Common issues and Troubleshooting
Unable to import template when UE is running in play mode
While going through the steps of importing a template, as explained here, you notice that the templates you are trying to import aren't appearing at stage 5.
This might be because of an issue with Unreal engine.
From time to time when closing Unreal the Unreal Editor process is left running in the background, those "ghost processes" prevent Studio from being able to connect to Unreal Engine to do the import.
In the image below you can see that Task manager is showing 2 instances of unreal are running separately. one of them is a "ghost processes"
To fix this issue:
- If you have Unreal open - close it.
- Open task manager (shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
-
Under Processes, and especially under Background processes search for Unreal processes (that can be done by pressing U in the keyboard which should take you to the first process that starts with a 'U').
-
End task for every instance of UE4Editor found.
- Open Unreal and open the desired project.
- Make sure you have only one instance of Unreal in the Task manager.
- Retry importing the page in Erizos Studio.
